When is rainy season in Bali?
Bali’s rainy season, also known as the wet or monsoon season, typically runs from November to April. The wettest months are December and January, and heavy rains can be expected from November through February and into mid-late March
Benefits of Surfing in Rainy Season
There aren’t many people so it’s easy to practice
I’m disappointed when it rains in the morning even though I was planning to go surfing.
Of course, It is same for everyone. That’s why There are fewer people on the beach than usual. Kuta Beach is always crowded. If there are fewer people, you will have more chance to practice surfing.
You may be able to take lessons cheap because there are not many customers.
There are many surfing schools on Kuta Beach. The coaches who already come to the beach want to get customers, so they “may” offer you a lower price than usual.
Less UV rays
According to United States Environmental Protection Agency, clear skies allow virtually 100% of UV to pass through, scattered clouds transmit 89%, broken clouds transmit 73%, and overcast skies transmit 31%
so UV protection is still necessary. But less UV compared sunny days.
Disadvantages of surfing on rainy days
Your body may get cold
Temperatures generally drop on rainy days. Be sure to do warm-up exercises and stretch after surfing.
Be careful of thunder
if there is thunder, you are absolutely prohibited from entering the water.
Even if you hear thunder after entering the sea, get out of the sea immediately.
I made a reservation, but it’s raining. I want the day to change
Surfing is possible even on rainy days, but the schedule may be changed.
Please message us if you would like to change the schedule.
